The IDR 650,000 (Komodo/Padar) and IDR 900,000 (Rinca) figures you will see quoted elsewhere are not the PP 36/2024 entrance tariff. They are bundled totals: national park PNBP plus regional retribution plus ranger and trail-management charges. The IDR 3,750,000 “conservation membership” proposed in 2022 was cancelled and does not apply.
A note on the park fee, because it is the most misreported number in Komodo. The IDR 250,000 foreign-visitor tariff comes from PP No. 36 Tahun 2024 as socialised by Balai Taman Nasional Komodo, and it covers entrance including trekking, wildlife observation and snorkelling. The higher figures circulating — IDR 650,000 for Komodo or Padar, IDR 900,000 for Rinca — are bundled operator totals that add regional retribution and ranger charges on top of the national tariff. Neither figure is wrong; they measure different things. And the IDR 3,750,000 “conservation membership” floated in 2022 was cancelled and has never been in force.

How to book, in three steps
Step one — send the brief. Dates or a date window, number of guests, cabin preference or whether you want the whole boat, and anything that changes the plan: dietary requirements, mobility limits, a birthday, a drone.
Step two — get it in writing. The reservations desk returns a written quotation stating the rate, the inclusions, the exclusions and the cancellation terms. Do not proceed on a verbal figure, and check that the quotation names the vessel, the duration and the guest count.
Step three — deposit. Fifty per cent confirms the dates. The balance falls due 30 days before departure, or in full at confirmation if you are booking inside 30 days. The deposit is non-refundable on cancellation, so buy travel insurance that covers trip cancellation before you transfer it.
Drone permits need at least seven days’ notice and cost IDR 1,000,000, so raise that in step one rather than step three.
