Full vessel specifications

Most Komodo cruise pages describe atmosphere and publish nothing you can check. This page does the opposite. Below is the complete specification sheet for Naturalia Cruise exactly as the operator publishes it, so you can compare it line by line against any other boat you are considering.

Two figures are worth pausing on. The first is 161 gross tonnes on a 33.45-metre hull: Naturalia is a heavy, beamy phinisi rather than a light sailing hull, which is what makes it steady on the exposed Padar and Manta Point legs where lighter boats roll. The second is the pair of 31.3 kVA generators. A backup generator of the same rating as the main set is not standard in this segment, and it is the difference between air conditioning that runs all night and air conditioning that gets switched off at anchor.

The build is a hand-built wooden phinisi from Bulukumba in South Sulawesi, the traditional boatbuilding centre for this hull form. The operator states the vessel was built in 2025 and entered service in 2026; treat that as operator-stated rather than as a registry record.

Cabin plan and per-person rates

Eight cabins, 24 berths, three decks. The upper deck holds Azure, Coral and Breeze; the main deck holds Sandal and Aurea; the lower deck holds Tide, Lagoon 1 and Lagoon 2. Every cabin is air-conditioned with its own bathroom and hot water.

Tide is also bookable as a sharing cabin: USD 490 per person on the double bed, USD 470 per person on a single bed. Eight cabins, 24 berths in total. Rates are per person, cabin-dependent, for a shared (open-trip) 3D2N departure.

The pricing logic is straightforward once you see it laid out: you pay for private outdoor space, for height above the waterline, and less per person the more people share a cabin. Sandal at USD 850 and Azure at USD 770 are 2-person cabins with a private balcony and a bathtub. Aurea runs USD 850 for two down to USD 480 for four, still with a private balcony and a jacuzzi. Breeze (USD 750/550/460) and Tide (USD 550/490/460) follow the same shape as more people share the room, and the two Lagoon cabins are a flat USD 450, the lowest entry point on the boat.

What is on board

The layout gives three distinct places to sit, which matters more than any single amenity when 24 people share a boat for three days. The Serenity Deck is the open sun deck for lounging and drone launches. The Panoramic Dining Deck is the al fresco table used for breakfast and most dinners. The indoor Dining Lounge with mini bar and karaoke is the wet-weather and late-evening room, fully air-conditioned. Snorkelling equipment and life vests are carried for every guest, and safety equipment comprises a life raft, life buoys and a fibreglass tender used for beach landings and drop-offs at Padar and Komodo.

Trip documentation is included rather than sold as an extra: drone, GoPro and mirrorless coverage of the voyage is part of the fare, which for most guests is the single most-used inclusion on the list.

Whole-boat prices, not per person. A full-day charter starts at USD 5,400; the published entry point for an overnight charter is USD 7,600 per night (about IDR 128,500,000 at the rate used on the operator’s Indonesian listing).

Read the tiers carefully, because they reward small groups. A couple or a family of six chartering privately for 3D2N pays USD 8,500 for the entire vessel and crew. Fill the boat to 24 and the same package is USD 10,400 — roughly USD 433 per person, which lands below several of the published shared-boat rates in the same class.

Who this boat suits, and who it does not

Best for: couples who want a bathtub and a private balcony without chartering privately; families of four who can take Aurea or Tide as a single cabin; groups of 10–24 who want the whole boat at a per-head cost close to a shared trip; travellers who care about sleeping well between islands rather than about dive certifications.

Not the right boat if: you want a dedicated dive liveaboard with an on-board compressor and four dives a day — Naturalia is a cruise and snorkelling vessel, and dive packages are arranged separately. It is also not the cheapest way to see Komodo; a day trip or a budget sharing boat will always cost less. And if you need guaranteed calm water, December to March is monsoon season and no operator can promise a fixed itinerary in it.

If a different format fits you better, the operator’s wider luxury cruise Indonesia range covers larger and smaller vessels across the same waters.

Frequently asked questions

How long is Naturalia Cruise and how many guests does it take?

Naturalia Cruise measures 33.45 metres overall with a 6-metre beam and 161 gross tonnes. It carries a maximum of 24 guests in 8 air-conditioned en-suite cabins spread across three decks, which is a low guest-to-space ratio for a boat of this length in Komodo.

How much does a cabin on Naturalia Cruise cost?

Published cabin rates run from USD 450 per person for Lagoon 1 and Lagoon 2 on the lower deck to USD 850 per person for the Sandal cabin on the main deck. Rates are per person on a shared 3D2N departure and exclude Komodo National Park entrance fees.

What does it cost to charter the whole boat?

Whole-boat charter starts at USD 5,400 for a full-day package with 1-8 guests (USD 7,600 for 2D1N) and rises to USD 31,200 for a 7D6N package with 17-24 guests. The 3D2N charter, the most requested package, is USD 8,500 for up to 8 guests, USD 9,500 for 9-16 and USD 10,400 for 17-24.

Which cabin should I book?

For a couple wanting a bathtub and a private balcony, Azure on the upper deck at USD 770 is the direct pick. For a family of four, Aurea on the main deck at USD 480 per person (4-person occupancy) gives two queen beds plus a private balcony with a jacuzzi. For the lowest entry price, Lagoon 1 or 2 at USD 450 per person are porthole cabins on the lower deck.

Is every cabin air-conditioned and en-suite?

Yes. All eight cabins are air-conditioned and every cabin has its own bathroom with a hot-water system. Tide, on the lower deck, has two bathrooms because it sleeps up to four in a double plus two singles.

What engine and generators does the boat run?

A single Mitsubishi 6D22 delivering 200 HP at 2,200 RPM, giving a 7-9 knot cruising speed. Power is a 31.3 kVA main generator with a second 31.3 kVA unit as backup, which is why air conditioning runs overnight without the cabins going warm when the main set is serviced.

How much fuel and fresh water does it carry?

Naturalia carries 4,000 litres of fuel and 8,000 litres of fresh water. On a 24-guest 3D2N itinerary that fresh-water figure is the number that matters: it is what allows freshwater deck showers after every snorkel stop instead of rationing.

Where does the boat depart from?

All departures are from Labuan Bajo on Flores, served by Komodo Airport (LBJ). Transfers between your Labuan Bajo hotel or the airport and the harbour are included in the fare.

Booking & enquiries

Cabins on shared departures sell fastest for Azure and Aurea, and peak-season Fridays in July and August typically close three to six months ahead. Naturalia Cruise is operated and marketed by Komodo Luxury (part of Juara Holding Group, working in Labuan Bajo since 2015). Reservations, cabin availability and written quotations go through the Komodo Luxury reservations desk: WhatsApp +628113823875 or sales@komodoluxury.com. Payment terms are published and unchanged: 50% deposit to hold the date, balance due 30 days before departure, full payment if you book inside 30 days. The deposit is non-refundable on cancellation.

Where these numbers come from

Vessel dimensions, cabin layout, engine and generator data, charter tiers and cabin rates on this page are the figures published by the operator, Komodo Luxury, on its Naturalia charter listing. National park tariffs are taken from PP No. 36 Tahun 2024 as socialised by Balai Taman Nasional Komodo. Sunrise and sunset times are computed for Padar Island (8°39′S, 119°35′E) in WITA (UTC+8) and are accurate to about three minutes. Sailing times between anchorages are operational ranges, not fixed schedules — they move with tide, wind and ranger queues, and we write them as ranges for that reason. Rates are quoted for the 2027 season and were last reviewed on 1 August 2026; always confirm the current rate in writing before transferring a deposit.
